Description
The specimen shows a circumscribed tumour lying partly in muscle and partly
in fat and of a reddish tinge. A healing wound in the skin presumably marks the site of biopsy.
The site of this lesion is not known but it is thought to have been near the midline in the lower back.
The histology of the lesion is that of a synovial sarcoma.
