Description
The specimen consists of the whole colon and rectum, showing an appendix at one end, and the
anus at the other. The whole colon shows multiple polyps of fairly uniform size, with several larger
lesions; there is a carcinoma in the ascending colon, in the transverse colon and in the rectum. The
carcinoma in the transverse colon is the largest, and shows central ulceration.
