Description
This consists of the anus and rectum; the greater part of the circumference of the lower rectum and
anus is occupied by a nodular, ulcerated, fungating tumour, black in colour. Literally there is a
small pile. The posterior surface shows tumour, extending to the serous coat. The likely point of
origin of this lesion is in the anal margin.
