History
Elderly man found dead at home; he had been treated for an acute bronchitis. At autopsy
found to have right-sided empyema and left-sided pleural effusion, bronchopneumonia and
carcinoma of colon. Prostate noted to be enlarged; bladder showed features demonstrated here.
Microscopy - metastatic tumour in lung from squamous cell carcinoma; it was assumed this had arisen
from one of several probably malignant lesions on his skin.
